Masks

Mask is an embodiment of the different deities, Lakhe (Demons) and animals. It also serves an excellent piece of souvenir. It can found in paper, clay or wood.
Black clay, Nepali paper, cotton, white cloth, water colour are the materials needed for the making of clay mask. Clay and cotton are mixed by beating with wooden hammer. It is cast in mould made of plaster of paris.
The process of making of Papier Mache Mask is almost same but instead of cotton clay mixture Papier Mache is used. The details of such masks are complex. Such masks are used by the dancers for the traditional dances.
Wooden masks of deities like Bhairab Mask, Shiva Mask etc also are decoration pieces.
